At Woods Financial Services, we don’t just map the path; we walk it with you.
Our approach replaces generic processes with thoughtful, strategic support, designed around your goals.

Two Leaders. One Clear Purpose.
Emily and Brian bring distinct benefits and strengths to our mission: helping you make smart, lasting decisions and build more robust financial roots.

Emily
As head of accounting and COO, I want to know each of my clients as people, not just spreadsheets. I help you navigate your financial goals with a measured approach that’s backed by decades of experience. Getting to know my clients and coming up with individualized strategies for each client’s growth is a true passion of mine.
Community involvement is a strong passion of Emily’s. Currently serving on the Community Leader Board for the YMCA of Central MD she has led projects to stock the local Fresh Mart along with participating in Send a Kid the Camp fundraisers. Emily recently completed the Pathways program with Women United, United Way of Central MD and is now serving on the engagement committee. Please contact her to learn more about these two great organizations.
Outside of work, I love traveling (especially to New Zealand), hiking with my dogs, concerts, and all things Peloton.
Brian
I have been in the business of helping families and small business owners maintain tax compliance and plan their financial futures for over 30 years. Marrying financial and retirement planning with the realities of tax law allows our approach to add more value to all of our client relationships.
My goal is to simplify complex issues so that our clients can feel confident about decisions they make. In addition to being a CPA, I am a long time holder of the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation.
When not in the office I enjoy playing golf and traveling with my family. I also have a love of quirky, unheralded indie bands particularly from the 80’s and 90’s and attend many live concerts.
If you need help navigating the myriad of tax laws and financial markets, please feel free to reach out to me at ten.apcsdoow@sdoowb to see if we are a good fit.

Emily Woods

She prioritizes learning your specific needs and developing strategies that enable rapid growth and problem-solving within your business.
Emily is currently a member of two community organizations, the YMCA of Central Maryland and United Way of Central Maryland.
Beyond work, Emily loves traveling, especially to far-flung destinations like New Zealand, hiking with her dogs, going to concerts, and working up a sweat on her Peloton.

Brian Woods

and Financal Planning
Brian brings a calm, strategic insight to every client conversation, focusing on strategy, structure, and developing systems for success. With over 30 years of experience, he guides business owners and families through tax law, financial planning, and succession decisions with confidence.

Kathy Muir
Tax Advisor
As a Tax Advisor, Kathy works in the Tax Compliance and Client Advisory Role. She takes great pride in helping clients with tax compliance issues and taking time to answer all the questions a client may have for their particular situation.
When Kathy is not working she spends a lot of time with my grandchildren and my new puppy.

Kelly Lyons
Operations Manager
As the firm’s operations manager, Kelly’s goal is to ensure the firm runs smoothly and efficiently. She partners with Emily to manage the internal systems and processes, which in turn provides a seamless experience for our clients.
Outside of work, Kelly loves reading, whitewater boating, cultivating plants (including a vegetable garden), and traveling. Her favorite destination to date is the Lofoten islands in Norway – a place like no other in the world!

Melanie Kremen
Client Manager
As Client Manager, Melanie is the primary point of contact for our clients, assisting with questions, tax documentation and everything in between. She partners with Brian and Emily to ensure a consistent and integrated client experience.
Outside of work Melanie enjoys traveling, watching the Steelers, reading, and going to concerts.

Riley Woods
Account Associate
Riley is the firm’s accounting associate. She works alongside Emily and the accounting team, delivering efficient, accurate, and thoughtful accounting support.
Outside of work Riley enjoys training for marathons, trying new foods, and watching the Ravens.

Katy Dubreuil
Administrative Assistant
As the administrative assistant for the firm, Katy provides essential support to our clients and internal team. She helps with daily office operations, client communication, and assists the tax team.
Outside of work Katy enjoys reading, painting, cooking, hiking, and taking road-trips with her family.

Phoebe
CVO, Chief Vibe Officer
Phoebe Woods started at the firm in June 2024. She joined the firm as a greeter and very quickly rose to the top as CVO, Chief Vibe Officer. Phoebe brings an energy to the office no one else can quite duplicate. She strikes up unique relationships with co-workers, clients and most importantly Eric the mailman. Phoebe takes her role quite seriously and has near perfect attendance although daily naps are required for such a strong energy level.
In her off duty time Phoebe enjoys long walks in the woods, a LOT of pets and chasing squirrels in the backyard. Phoebe joined the Woods family in May 2024 as a foster pup. She was adopted by the Woods approximately two hours after her arrival when it was very evident she had captured everyone’s heart. She quickly integrated the rest of the dog squad at Chez Woods.
